For years, ⁤OneNote users have been requesting a simple feature: the ability ‍to paste text without all the formatting baggage. It’s a small change, but one that can⁤ significantly improve workflow and note-taking efficiency. And now, it’s finally coming‍ to OneNote.

Say Goodbye to Unwanted Formatting

Right now, when you ⁤copy content from a webpage or another application and ⁤paste it into OneNote, everything comes along for the ride – colors, fonts, styles, and all. While this might be useful for some, many of ⁤us prefer a ⁣clean slate, especially when building notes from multiple sources. Retaining ⁢formatting can quickly clutter your notebooks ⁤and make them harder to read and organize.

Thankfully, Microsoft has listened to user feedback⁢ and is rolling out a “Paste Text Only” option. This allows you to strip away all ‍the ⁢visual styling and paste just the raw text, ‍giving you ⁣complete control over how your notes look.

How to Paste as Plain ⁢Text in⁣ OneNote

here’s how you can start using the new feature:

  1. Open a new or existing notebook in OneNote.
  2. Copy the text you ⁣want to paste from any source.
  3. ⁣Place your cursor where you want the content to appear in OneNote.
  4. You have a few options for pasting as plain text:

Right-click: right-click in the desired location and select “Paste Options” > “Keep Text Only.”
⁤
home Tab: Go to the “Home” tab and select “Paste” > “Paste Options” > “Keep Text Only.”

Keyboard Shortcut: ⁤Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift⁤ + V on Windows or Command + ⁣Shift + V on‍ Mac.

OneNote

This simple change offers a huge boost to productivity, letting you focus on what you’re⁣ writing, not how it looks. ⁤ It’s perfect for researchers, students,or anyone who frequently ⁢copies and pastes details ⁣into OneNote.

Which Versions of OneNote are Supported?

microsoft confirms the feature is currently rolling out with:

OneNote for Windows: Version 2508 (Build 19101.10000) or later.
* OneNote for Mac: Build 16.100 (25080335) or later.

Make sure you have the latest updates installed to enjoy this long-awaited functionality. If you don’t see the option immediately, don’t worry – it’s likely still rolling out to⁣ your region.
