OpenAI has appointed Dali Rajic as its new Chief Revenue Officer, replacing Denise Dresser in the role after less than a year, according to company announcements and reports from outlets including Fortune. Rajic, who previously served as president and chief operating officer at cybersecurity firm Wiz, takes over OpenAI’s global revenue organization as the company accelerates its enterprise adoption push and prepares for public markets.

Leadership Changes and the Enterprise Push

Rajic’s appointment marks the fifth C-suite shakeup at OpenAI in the past year, according to sources cited by Fortune. Dresser, the former chief executive officer of Slack, joined OpenAI in December 2025 and is leaving the company after a transition period to pursue other opportunities, according to OpenAI. Fortune reported that OpenAI decided to take the position in a different direction as the company races toward the public markets in 2027. OpenAI President Greg Brockman stated that Rajic will build the revenue operating system needed to scale for the next phase of growth. According to OpenAI, the company’s products reach more than one billion weekly active users and over two million businesses, representing double the business customer count from a year prior. Enterprise customers accounted for more than 40 percent of OpenAI’s revenue earlier in the year, with the company projecting enterprise earnings would reach parity with its consumer business by the end of 2026.

Background on Dali Rajic

Rajic, 53, brings extensive experience in scaling technology businesses, having previously served as president and chief operating officer at Wiz, which was recently acquired by Google, as well as president and chief operating officer at Zscaler and chief customer and revenue officer at AppDynamics, according to OpenAI. Profiles published by Fortune describe Rajic as a disciplined and intense enterprise sales leader. Born in Yugoslavia in an area that is now Croatia, Rajic moved to Germany at age one and later relocated to the United States at age 16, according to a 2022 podcast interview cited by Fortune. He holds an undergraduate degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Rajic is disciplined, blunt, and intellectual, according to four people who have worked with him previously, two of whom requested anonymity to speak freely about the increasingly influential Silicon Valley figure.

Broader Executive Shift and Competitive Pressures

The revenue leadership change coincides with a broader evolution of OpenAI’s executive structure. Longtime executive Brad Lightcap announced plans to leave the company for a new project, while Fidji Simo stepped down from overseeing applications and business operations following a medical leave. Former product chief Kevin Weil also departed earlier in the year. The leadership transition occurs during an intensified artificial intelligence race against competitors such as Anthropic, which has made significant gains in the enterprise market with its Claude models. Rajic will lead the go-to-market strategy as OpenAI attempts to convert widespread consumer popularity into predictable, recurring commercial revenue.
