Operativo Enjambre in Edomex Targets Mayors and Police Directors Linked to Organized Crime
The Enjambre Operation took place in the State of Mexico (Edomex). This operation led to the arrest of security officials, with plans to detain ten mayors and police chiefs linked to crime.
The operation is coordinated by the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, along with the Defense, Navy, and the local Edomex authorities.
In social media updates, the Edomex Attorney General’s Office reported that some security directors and municipal presidents have been detained. The detained officials include:
- Rodolfo ’N’, Director of Security and Citizen Prevention in Ixtapaluca.
- Eraclio ’N’, Director of Security in Tejupilco.
- Omar ’N’, Deputy Director of Public Security in Naucalpan.
- María Elena ‘N’, Mayor of Amanalco.
A security director from Texcaltitlán reportedly committed suicide to avoid arrest.
Authorities are targeting mayors and their police directors involved with organized crime. The detained officials are under investigation for alleged criminal activities. They will be presented to the Judicial Authority to determine their legal status.
