OPPO announced the launch of the Find X8 series in Taiwan on November 22. This series is the international version of the Find X flagship line after three years. The Find X8 series will appeal to both existing OPPO users and those considering a switch from other brands.
Design Features
The Find X8 comes in Titanium Gray and Matte Black, while the Find X8 Pro is offered in Glossy White and Silent Black. The design is slim, with the Find X8 Pro measuring 8.24mm thick and the Find X8 at 7.85mm and weighing 193 grams. The phone features a “camera control button” similar to the iPhone 16, enabling users to focus, shoot quickly, or use high-speed continuous shooting.
The Find X8 Pro includes a unique 6.78-inch slightly curved display. It surpasses typical flagship phones with an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. This design allows the phone to withstand water sprays and function in wet conditions.
Performance Specifications
Both the Find X8 and X8 Pro use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, developed in collaboration with MediaTek. This TSMC 3nm processor enhances energy performance. The phones feature silicon carbon negative batteries, ensuring high performance and fast charging capabilities.
For the first time, the Find X8 series supports the “iOS Mutual Transfer Function.” This feature allows users to transfer data from iPhones seamlessly. Users can also download an app to facilitate quick transfers between devices.
Camera and Imaging Capabilities
The Find X8 Pro boasts four 50-megapixel main lenses, including a periscope lens for 3x and 6x optical zoom. The Find X8 includes three lenses, lacking the 6x zoom functionality. OPPO has partnered with Hasselblad for advanced photography features, enhancing the camera’s performance.
AI Features
The phone includes AI functions for image repair and productivity tools. Users can restore damaged photos with one click, eliminate glare, and enhance image quality. The AI functionality extends to productivity with features like note and document assistants that help with summaries and translations.
Pricing and Availability
The Find X8 Pro starts at NT$37,990 for the 16GB+512GB model, while the Find X8 is priced at NT$27,990 for the 12GB+256GB model. Pre-orders have commenced, with availability on November 29.
OPPO’s General Manager, Liu Jin, mentioned the company’s efforts to capture the high-end market. The goal is to increase the revenue ratio of high-end products to 3:6:1. Liu noted that a significant portion of current OPPO flagship users plan to stay with the brand. The Find X8 series aims to attract both loyal OPPO users and those switching from other brands, including Apple.
