Telecom operator Orange is increasing the European Union roaming data allowance for its Yoxo youth tariff plan from 29.56 gigabytes to 50 gigabytes per month without additional charges, according to company announcements reported by industry publications.
The update goes into effect on October 7 and applies to both new and existing subscribers, the reports said.
Priced at 20 euros monthly, the Yoxo plan includes 100 gigabytes of domestic data, unlimited calls, and unlimited text and multimedia messages, with speeds throttling to 1 megabit per second after the data allowance is exhausted. The operator also allows unused data to be carried over. While the domestic allowance totals 100 gigabytes, EU roaming usage is capped by fair-use policy regulations, resulting in the new 50-gigabyte limit, the reports noted.
The roaming upgrade follows recent structural changes to the tariff. Orange eliminated the requirement for an ISIC student identification card, opening the plan to all young customers aged 6 to 26. Minor subscribers require parental arrangement and school attendance verification, according to the coverage.
Alongside the data increase, Orange is expanding its hardware discounts for Yoxo subscribers starting Wednesday. The updated device catalog includes Apple AirPods 5 with a wireless charging case discounted by 30 euros to 139 euros, the Apple iPhone 16 (128 GB) replacing the iPhone 15 with a 60-euro discount lowering the price to 999 euros, and the iPad 11 (2025) with 128 GB of storage discounted by 50 euros to 469 euros. The hardware lineup further features a refurbished iPhone 14 for 369 euros, multiple color variants of the iPhone 17 for 1,099 euros, a Samsung Galaxy A17 for 139 euros, and a Motorola Moto G57 Power 5G for 199 euros. The operator also offers zero-interest installment options for hardware purchases tied to the plan.
The adjustments arrive amid heightened competition in Slovakia’s youth mobile segment, where rival operator O2 offers a comparable Maxx tariff at 20 euros monthly featuring 100 gigabytes of data and unlimited communications.
