Curacautín, Chile – – Cristián Mauricio Ordóñez and Miguel Angel Herrera have secured a significant financial advantage for the 2026-2027 rodeo season after winning the Rodeo Interasociaciones at the Club Curacautín of the Asociación Malleco. The pair triumphed riding La Esperanza Matico and Casas de Tepual Combinao, achieving a score of 35.
Ordóñez expressed his elation following the victory, telling Caballoyrodeo.cl, “I am incredibly happy about everything – for the team, the horses, and how it all unfolded. It was a beautiful championship, so we are very happy and content.”
The duo were aiming to accumulate points but finished fourth in another competition, leaving them still needing to secure one more. Ordóñez noted they are awaiting a potential future date, contingent on conditions in the region and recent wildfires. “But we are content,” he added.
Ordóñez described the rodeo as a well-organized and competitive event. “It was a good rodeo overall. The organization was excellent, and the competition was strong, with many competitive teams. It was enjoyable, and everyone was happy. It was a beautiful rodeo.”
The win provides a valuable “saving” for the team as they look ahead to the next season. “We have secured the requirement and 10 points, which is a good saving. These are new horses that have demonstrated they should perform well next season,” Ordóñez explained.
