Jett Washington, Top Safety Recruit, Commits to Oregon Ducks Football

Las Vegas safety Jett Washington, a highly touted four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 1 safety in the 2026 class, has announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Washington chose Oregon over Alabama and USC.
Washington,ranked as the No. 22 prospect nationally, is the highest-rated four-star recruit in the ESPN 300. Only five-star tight end Kendre’ Harrison ranks higher among Oregon’s six top-300 commits.
A third-year starter at Bishop Gorman High School, Washington recorded 38 tackles and five interceptions during his junior year. He also helped lead Bishop Gorman to its second consecutive Nevada Class 5A state basketball title. Washington is the nephew of the late Kobe Bryant.
The commitment of Washington provides a important recruiting boost for Oregon coach Dan Lanning, especially after recent near misses with othre top recruits.
Oregon was among the first major programs to pursue Washington. His connection with Ducks defensive backs coach Chris Hampton gave Oregon an advantage.
