[Video]CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara comments on the alleged “doping issue”: “Both Mikuru Asakura and Ren Hiramoto have had their samples taken”[RIZIN]

A person close to Hiramoto announced today that Hiramoto will hold an emergency press conference with two lawyers in Tokyo from tomorrow evening, the 2nd. In response to this, Hiramoto posted, “I will be speaking at a press conference tomorrow about the matter that is currently causing a stir in the public! Thank you for your cooperation!”

This is the first time Hiramoto has updated his X-ray mark in six days, since he posted a picture of himself on the cover of the magazine “KAMINOGE” on the 26th of last month.

Hiramoto won the main event of “Super RIZIN.3” held at Saitama Super Arena on July 28th, defeating Mikuru Asakura with a first-round KO. After that, a social media account that seemed to be an exposer released a doctored audio video that suggested Hiramoto was doping, causing controversy among martial arts fans.

In addition, YouTuber Shibata, who has participated in RIZIN twice, stated that the person making the audio was Akazawa Yukinori, a fighter who is friends with Hiramoto. Akazawa himself later confessed on his own SNS that he was the person making the audio, that he had provided Hiramoto with doping, and that as a result, Asakura Mikuru was defeated and retired, and that he came forward out of guilt.

At the press conference announcing additional cards for “Yogibo presents RIZIN.48” on August 21, RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara explained, “RIZIN conducts strict doping tests for title matches and grand prix matches, and this time we have air-shipped urine samples from Hiramoto and Asakura Mikuru to the United States for testing.”

At the time, he said about the test results, “They will be available next week. We would like to wait for those results and then make public to everyone what measures will be taken. If either sample comes back positive, we will take action in accordance with the rules. It’s nothing more and nothing less, so I would like you to wait for the test results.”

Furthermore, on the 31st of the same month, he stated on his official Twitter account, “Based on the results of the doping tests, I will definitely hold a press conference by the end of next week. It’s taking some time, but please wait for a little while longer.”
