Orient Star is marking its 65th anniversary with a limited-edition timepiece that’s quite literally out of this world: the M34 F8 Date Meteorite Dial watch. Priced at £2,800 and limited to just 255 examples, the watch features a dial crafted from a genuine meteorite, offering a unique and visually striking aesthetic.

This launch is part of a series of commemorative releases from Orient Star throughout 2026, following a similar celebration by its parent company, Orient, in 2025. Orient Star, positioned as a more premium offering than the standard Orient line, is clearly aiming to make this anniversary year particularly special.

The “M” in the M34 F8 designation refers to a star constellation – in this case, Perseus. The connection to the Perseus Star Cluster is further emphasized by the watch’s inspiration drawn from the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. The dial itself is constructed from a piece of iron-based meteorite, a material forged in the extreme conditions of space before landing on Earth. Each dial will be unique due to the inherent, naturally occurring patterns within the meteorite.

Beyond the striking dial, the M34 F8 maintains the core design elements of the M34 family. It features a 40mm stainless steel case, a clean dial layout with a date window at the three o’clock position, and a power reserve indicator at twelve o’clock. The caseback is sapphire, offering a view of the in-house calibre F8N64 automatic mechanical movement. This movement boasts 22 jewels and a 60-hour power reserve.

The watch is completed with a stainless steel bracelet and offers water resistance up to 100 meters. The limited production run of 255 units adds to the exclusivity of the piece, justifying the £2,800 price point for collectors and enthusiasts.

The Orient Star M34 F8 Date Meteorite Dial is expected to be available for order later in February. This release marks a compelling start to Orient Star’s 65th-anniversary celebrations, blending horological craftsmanship with a truly cosmic material.
