The Orlando Magic rebounded from a Game 1 loss to even their first-round playoff series with the Detroit Pistons at 1-1, winning Game 2 by a score of 112-101 on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The Magic delivered a balanced offensive effort, with multiple players contributing double-digit scoring outputs to overcome a slow start and seize control of the game after falling behind early.

Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham continued to showcase his individual brilliance, leading all scorers with a strong performance that kept the Pistons competitive throughout the contest. However, questions persisted about the consistency of his supporting cast, which struggled to provide reliable secondary scoring and rebounding support against Orlando’s disciplined defensive schemes.

The Pistons entered Game 2 seeking adjustments to bolster their offensive depth and improve their rebounding efficiency, areas where they had been exposed in the opening loss. Despite Cunningham’s efforts, Detroit was unable to generate enough consistent production beyond their star guard to overcome the Magic’s balanced attack.

Orlando’s ability to contain Detroit’s primary playmakers while receiving contributions from multiple scorers proved decisive. The Magic effectively limited second-chance opportunities and forced the Pistons into difficult shots, particularly in the second half when Orlando pulled away to secure the victory.

With the series now tied, both teams head back to Orlando for Games 3 and 4, where the Magic will look to capitalize on their home-court advantage and the momentum gained from the road win in Detroit.
