Ormskirk & Southport A&E Changes Not Final

West Lancashire ‍and sefton A&E Reorganization: No Decisions Finalized, Says ⁤NHS trust Chief

Southport, UK – amidst growing⁤ concerns and public consultations regarding the reorganization of Accident and Emergency (A&E) ⁢services between Southport and ‍Ormskirk hospitals, the chief executive of Mersey and ⁣West ⁤Lancashire Trust, Rob Cooper, has assured the community that “it’s not‍ a done deal” which site will ultimately retain its ⁢A&E services.The ⁢local NHS has indicated its preference⁢ to consolidate children’s A&E⁣ services at Southport, which currently operates the adult A&E, by closing the children’s A&E at Ormskirk. However, Cooper emphasized that “no decision has ⁤been taken”⁢ and that public feedback from ongoing consultations will ⁣be carefully considered⁣ before any final decisions are made.

Currently, emergency services are ⁤divided‍ between Southport and formby District ⁣General Hospital, and Ormskirk District General⁤ Hospital.
