The Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Executive Committee (Tournament Director: Nishino Sakae, Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has announced the selection of 17 direct-in players and 2 organizer recommended players for the singles main draw of the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament 2024 (sponsored by The Sports Nippon Shimbun Co., Ltd., abbreviated as Toray PPO Tennis 2024) (Dates: Saturday, October 19, 2024 to Sunday, October 27, 2024) (Category: Japan’s highest level WTA500 tournament).

This year marks the 39th anniversary of the tournament, which is considered the highest level women’s tennis tournament held in Japan. This year, five top 10 players will participate, including world No. 3 and 2024 US Open runner-up Jessica Pegula (3rd place/USA), 2024 Australian Open runner-up Zheng Qingwen (7th place/China), Emma Navarro (8th place/USA), Danielle Collins (9th place/USA), and 2024 Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova (10th place/Czech Republic). As for Japanese players, in addition to Naomi Osaka (73rd place/Japan), who won the main tournament in 2019, Moeka Uchijima (63rd place/Japan), who is the top ranked Japanese player in the world, has been selected to participate in the main tournament by the organizers.
