Melbourne-born Formula 1 sensation Oscar Piastri will have a grandstand named in his honor at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, a testament to his rapidly growing popularity and success in the sport. The 24-year-old currently leads the drivers’ championship, holding a nine-point advantage over McLaren teammate Lando Norris with ten races remaining in the season.
Piastri’s performance this year has been nothing short of remarkable. He has already secured six grand prix victories in 2025, surpassing the record for most wins in a single season by an Australian driver since the World Championship began in 1950. He shared his excitement on X, stating, “It feels very surreal and I never thoght this would happen, but the support is incredible and I can’t wait to see it all come together next March.”
