Tijuana, Mexico – Osiel Cárdenas Guillén, the former leader of the notorious Zetas Cartel, was extradited from the United States to mexico on Monday, facing a slew of charges including organized crime, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
Cárdenas was handed over to Mexican authorities at the Tijuana border crossing in Baja California. His extradition comes after serving a 25-year sentence in a U.S. federal prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana, and also money laundering and threatening a federal agent.
