Kentucky guard Otega Oweh has decided to withdraw from the NBA draft and will return to the Wildcats for his senior season, according to his agent, Wilmer jackson. Oweh, a key player for Kentucky, made the announcement Wednesday.
Oweh stated that feedback from NBA teams led to his decision to return to school. He aims to elevate his draft stock and pursue a national championship with Kentucky.The deadline for NBA draft entrants to withdraw and retain college eligibility was Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-5 guard, originally from New Jersey, had a standout season after transferring from Oklahoma. he averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals, earning All-SEC second team honors.
Oweh’s performance surged late in the season,highlighted by eight games with 20 or more points in February and March. This included two wins against Oklahoma where he averaged 27.5 points.
At the NBA draft combine in Chicago, Oweh impressed in scrimmages, showcasing his defensive skills and scoring ability.
