Yueyang Daily All Media News (Reporter Chen Zhihui, Correspondent Xiao Qi) On August 30, the reporter learned from the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau that our city has set a new historical best in the 2024 Hunan Provincial Vocational Skills Competition·Animal Disease Control and Prevention Worker and Veterinary Laboratory Technician Skills Competition.

From August 28 to 29, 14 animal disease control teams and 14 veterinary laboratory technician teams from all over the province competed on the same stage. After two days of fierce competition, our city’s team relied on solid professional knowledge, superb skills and tenacious fighting spirit. The animal disease control workers won the first place in the final group score of the competition, and the veterinary laboratory technicians won the fourth place in the total score. Li Peng from Xiangyin County and Hu Shi from Pingjiang County won the first prize, and Lai Ru’an from Pingjiang County won the second prize. Among them, Li Peng was awarded the Hunan Province May 1st Labor Medal and other honors. All three were selected for the Hunan Animal Disease Control Training Team to participate in training, and will have the opportunity to represent Hunan Province in the 2024 National Industry Vocational Skills Competition-The 6th National Agricultural Industry Vocational Skills Competition (Animal Disease Control Competition).

In recent years, the Party Committee of the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau has attached great importance to the construction of the animal epidemic prevention team. Through recruiting talents from all over the world, open recruitment, and special post training, a group of outstanding university graduates have been recruited to continuously update and enrich the animal epidemic prevention teams at the municipal, county, and township levels. At the same time, the professional knowledge and vocational skills of animal epidemic prevention personnel have been cultivated and improved through various forms and methods such as training through competitions, centralized training, and online training. At the beginning of 2024, the preparations for the competition were organized and implemented, a skills competition leadership group and a training team were established, a training work plan for the competition was formulated, and the “apprenticeship system for outstanding players in previous years” was implemented. In strict accordance with the requirements of the competition scoring rules, the players were trained to standardize and master the skills and operation techniques, improve the operation skills of the contestants, further deepen the understanding and comprehension of professional knowledge, and make comprehensive preparations for the competition.
