Saudi Arabia Condemns Israel’s Raid on Jordan River

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned Israel’s construction of a barrier across the Jordan River, which is controlled by Palestine in the Jordan Valley. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers this a clear violation of international law.

The ministry emphasized that such actions can exacerbate conflicts in the region and called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the Israeli attack. The recent escalation of violence along the Jordan border has led to increased tensions in the region.

Netanyahu’s Meeting with Military Commanders

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with military commanders in Jordan on Wednesday to discuss efforts to transfer weapons and fighters to the West Bank. The Israeli authorities first proposed this plan 20 years ago, and its revival is widely seen as an attempt to de-escalate the conflict.

However, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of protecting civilians in the region, who will be severely affected by the ongoing violence. The ministry called for an end to the Israeli offensive in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes.

Humanitarian Crisis

The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 41,000 people since October 7, 2023. The ministry emphasized the need to accelerate the flow of humanitarian aid to those affected by the crisis.

The international community must come together to address the growing humanitarian needs in the region and work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
