Polish game‍ developer People Can Fly, known for titles like Outriders and Gears of War Judgment, is halting growth ‍on ⁢two ⁤projects, project Gemini and‍ project Bifrost. The move puts jobs at risk as the company plans to scale down⁤ its teams.

CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski⁣ announced the decision,⁢ citing ‌a lack of agreement from the publisher on Project Gemini and concerns about securing resources for Project Bifrost. The project cancellations will force⁣ the studio to reorganize.

“Today we ⁢made a very difficult decision ‌to suspend the development ‍of project Gemini and⁣ project Bifrost,” ⁢Wojciechowski said in a statement. “as ⁤a result,we have to substantially regroup as a studio and scale down our ⁢teams, which hurts⁢ the moast.”

While Wojciechowski did not name the publisher involved, People Can Fly’s website indicates that Square Enix partnered on Project Gemini. Project Bifrost was intended to ⁢be self-published. Square Enix has not commented.

People ⁤Can Fly previously reduced its workforce late last year. The studio is currently collaborating with Krafton and Sony on projects echo and Delta, respectively. They are also working with Microsoft on Gears⁤ of⁣ War: E-Day. The studio’s most recent release is Bulletstorm VR.

What’s next

The future role of People can Fly remains uncertain⁢ as it navigates these‌ project cancellations. The studio will focus on its remaining collaborations and explore new opportunities in the gaming landscape. The impact ‍on employees and the long-term strategy of the company will be ⁣closely watched.
