Last fall, a former politician was convicted and sentenced to prison for abusing the same boy. Additional cases are expected to be brought⁣ forward in the spring, with the⁤ family present for each.

According to ⁢ Bergens Tidende, a total of six men are charged with assaulting the boy.One man ⁣in his 60s is accused of multiple instances of abuse in ‍a hotel room, allegedly offering liquor, money, and cigarettes as incentives.

reports indicate that⁣ as many as ⁤19 men ⁤were initially on a suspect list after the case was reported to police in 2023. Several cases remain under investigation.

Attorney General Folke Åmlid, the prosecutor in the recent case, ⁢described the situation as “unusual,” ⁣noting the multiple cases involving the same victim and different perpetrators.

Åmlid expressed concern for the boy’s future, stating that he will ‍”have his entire⁢ life performing, but in the city it is very tough.”

Details of the Alleged Abuse

The two men on trial last week are accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the boy. The man in his 40s allegedly abused the boy in a car parked in a parking lot.

Both defendants are⁢ also charged with committing sexual abuse against the boy at the older man’s apartment.

During testimony, the alleged victim described⁣ experiencing pain during the assaults, as well as receiving alcohol, cigarettes, and cash.

The court also heard that ⁢the boy⁣ was filmed in a hayfield.

Prosecutors ⁤stated that one of the defendants, a man in his 60s,⁤ shared the film with other individuals.

On multiple occasions, the ⁣boy reportedly consumed so much alcohol that he suffered alcohol poisoning and required hospitalization.

One of the defendants ⁣told the court he gave the boy alcohol to prevent him from seeking out drugs on the street.

“So you’re like a savior,” the boy remarked to his⁣ assistant lawyer, Sigurd Klomsæt.

Defense argues Actions Not Prostitution

klomsæt⁢ questioned the other defendant whether providing alcohol and money in exchange for sex constituted prostitution.

“No, I didn’t see it as prostitution,” the defendant replied.

Authorities say the ‍abuse has left visible marks⁣ on the victim.

Lawyer Sigurd Klomsæt

Sigurd Klomsæt, the victim’s lawyer,⁣ believes police have not thoroughly investigated whether the boy was abused by ⁤a larger network.

“He simply couldn’t meet in ⁤court. Now he gets help, treatment and⁣ therapy,” Klomsæt said.

Klomsæt described the boy as having been in a “dark place” in his life.

Klomsæt has filed a claim for compensation for ⁢the⁣ boy.

“he has it ⁣absolutely fucking,” ⁣Klomsæt stated.

The lawyer has also initiated a civil ‍lawsuit, arguing the abuse is more extensive than what prosecutors have charged.

Klomsæt contends the case involves both rape and ⁣organized activity,⁣ and ⁣that the ⁤compensation amount should be higher.

Defense Attorney Disagrees with Claims

Attorney Odd Arild⁤ Helland, representing the ⁤younger defendant, expressed disagreement with Klomsæt’s assertions.

“I have no idea where he’s⁣ getting this from. In any case, it cannot be ⁣from the case documents, as there is no basis for claiming anything like that,” Helland said.

Helland stated it ⁢was “sad” for the victim that Klomsæt was making⁤ such claims.

Klomsæt‍ has called the investigation into the case “scandalous,” arguing police did not adequately investigate whether the abuse was organized.

Attorney General Åmlid said, “I can only pronounce myself about the case that⁢ goes to court today. The investigation ⁣has been⁣ good, and the indictment reflects the seriousness of the case.”

Prosecutors are seeking a one-year prison sentence for the older defendant and⁢ eight months for the younger defendant.

A verdict in the case is ⁤expected in early May.
