San Diego – Luis Arraez played hero as the Padres narrowly defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 on Friday, kicking off a stretch of 26 games in 27 days. Arraez, who spent his off day fishing, carried that momentum into petco Park, contributing both offensively and defensively.
Nick Pivetta, the Padres’ starting pitcher, dominated early, striking out six consecutive batters.However, the offense lagged behind untill the fourth inning.
