Three Terrorists Neutralized in jammu and Kashmir’s Harwan Operation

Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir – Security forces have successfully neutralized three terrorists in an intense firefight in the higher reaches of Harwan’s Mulnar area, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation, codenamed “OP MAHADEV,” was launched following specific intelligence inputs indicating the presence of militants responsible for a recent deadly attack.

intelligence gathered over the past month suggested that the terrorists involved in the devastating Pahalgam attack might have relocated towards the Dachigam area, approximately 20 kilometers from Srinagar’s city center. The Pahalgam attack, which occurred on april 22nd in the Baisaran valley, resulted in the tragic loss of 26 civilian lives.
Counter-Terrorism efforts Intensify
The anti-militancy operation in Mulnar,Harwan,commenced after security forces received credible intelligence. Reports from the ground indicated that two rounds of gunshots were heard on Monday morning as the forces conducted thorough searches of the area.
Sources cited by the Hindustan Times suggest that one of the neutralized terrorists has been identified as Suleman Shah, believed to be the mastermind behind the pahalgam attack. However, official confirmation of this identification is still pending.
Ongoing Operation and Official Statements
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir,Vidhi Kumar Birdi,provided an update on the situation,stating,”it is a prolonged operation and is still continuing in which J&K police,paramilitary and army have an exchange of fire (with terrorists) in higher reaches. As per the interior reports, three bodies are being observed and seem to be neutralized.”
Birdi emphasized that the operation is ongoing and refrained from divulging further details at this moment. “We will share details with you at an opportune time. It will take us some time for identification and all that. The (security) parties are still inside,” he added. An official statement will be issued by the authorities once the operation concludes.
