Pakistani Interior⁣ Minister‍ Sheik Rashid Ahmad confirmed that the ‍Chinese ambassador to Pakistan was residing at the hotel but was not present at the time of the explosion. Ziaullah lango, the Minister for Home Affairs, stated that the ambassador‍ is safe.

Nasir Malik, a police official, told Reuters that the explosion occurred in the Serena ⁢Hotel’s parking area. Waseem Baig,an officer ⁤at a local hospital,reported that four individuals died,and several others are in critical condition. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to ARY News TV, a car laden with explosives was the cause ‍of ⁤the blast.A spokesman for the TTP,‍ in a text message to Reuters, stated that a suicide bomber used an explosives-laden vehicle in ⁤the ⁣attack.

Earlier in the day,Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong met with provincial Chief Minister Jam Kamal,according ⁣to a ⁤tweet by Liaquat Shahwani,a speaker for the Provincial Government.

Lango told ⁣journalists that he had met with the ambassador,‍ who was in good spirits, adding that the envoy would conclude his visit ⁢to Quetta on Thursday.⁤ The Chinese Embassy⁤ did not ⁢respond to requests for comment.
