Pakistan Foils Major Terror Attack, Arrests 34 Suspects

law enforcement agencies in Punjab‍ province, Pakistan, ​have foiled a major ⁣terror attack, leading to the arrest of 34⁣ terrorists,‍ officials announced ⁤Saturday. the ‌Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) said the arrests followed 415 intelligence operations conducted across the province this week.

Many of‌ the arrested militants belong to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban ​Pakistan (TTP). Authorities classified three of the detainees as “most perilous terrorists.” The suspects allegedly planned to attack law enforcement personnel and target key infrastructure across punjab.

The CTD reported that the arrests occurred in multiple locations, including Lahore, ‍Rawalpindi, ‌Gujranwala,‌ Jhelum, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Narowal, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar,​ Bukhara, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib. Authorities confiscated 5,841 grams of explosives, 19 detonators, 51 feet of safety fuse wire, hand grenades, and banned literature.

Officials have registered 23 cases against the arrested ⁤individuals and are continuing their investigation ⁢into the planned⁢ terror attack.
