Palestinians Flee Gaza: Thousands Continue to Depart
Gaza Exodus: Families Flee North as Israeli Offensive Intensifies
Gaza City, September 14, 2025 – A heartbreaking scene unfolds on a dusty road north of usseirat, as a seemingly endless stream of families desperately flee Gaza City. The air is thick with dust and the weight of displacement, as men, women, and children, many carrying what little they can salvage, trudge south. Some are crammed into vans or precariously balanced on carts, while others walk, their arms laden with bags or cradling young children.
The mass exodus comes as Israeli forces escalate their offensive in Gaza City, the largest urban center in the Palestinian territory. Citing the need to dismantle what they claim are the last strongholds of Hamas, Israeli authorities have issued repeated evacuation orders, urging civilians to move south.
According to Israeli estimates,as many as one million people are expected to flee Gaza City, adding to the already dire situation in the southern part of the territory. The region, home to approximately two million people, has already been repeatedly impacted by the ongoing conflict, which began with the unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
However, many Gazan residents express deep fear and uncertainty about finding safety anywhere. Reports persist of Israeli strikes hitting areas previously designated as safe zones, leaving civilians feeling trapped and vulnerable.
The human cost of the conflict is starkly visible in the faces of those fleeing. Amidst the throngs of people, a man in a wheelchair pushes a child, while another struggles to walk with the aid of crutches.Along the coastal road near usseirat, families, fatigued and traumatized by nearly two years
