As the vibrant celebrations of San Fermín in Pamplona continue, authorities are addressing reports of incidents, while also highlighting a general sense of security. The Pamplona Municipal Police are actively investigating a complaint of an alleged high-intensity sexual assault that reportedly occurred in a private home during the renowned festival.
Addressing Incidents and Ensuring Safety
The City Council has also reported two additional cases of lower-intensity sexual offenses, described as touching, against women. In connection with these incidents, one arrest has been made.
Amparo López, the navarra Minister of the Interior, shared an update on thursday, noting a significant decrease in sexual aggression cases halfway through the San Fermín festivities. this positive trend, coupled with a reduction in calls to emergency services and an increase in arrests for reported offenses, has led López to characterize the overall atmosphere of the fiestas as one of ”tranquility.”
A Look at the Numbers
Specifically, by the midpoint of the celebrations, there had been six complaints related to sexual aggression. This figure represents a notable decrease of 62% compared to the same period in 2024,when ten more complaints were filed. Moreover, seven individuals have been apprehended by authorities.

In a powerful display of solidarity and a stand against sexual violence, a public demonstration is scheduled for Sunday, July 13th. This “repulsion concentration” will take place at 9:00 PM in the Plaza del Castillo, inviting the community to come together and voice their opposition to such acts.
