Los Angeles, CA – Get ready for a bigger, bolder Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) in 2025! The nation’s largest Black History Month event is expanding its footprint to Culver City while maintaining its beloved presence at Cinemark theaters in baldwin Hills.

This exciting move reflects PAFF’s remarkable growth and soaring popularity, driven by a passionate audience eager to experience the rich tapestry of Black diaspora stories through film, art, and cultural expression.

“We are beyond excited to expand PAFF to Culver City while continuing our cherished tradition at Cinemark Los Angeles,” said Oduduwa Olatunji, executive Director of the Pan African Film & Arts festival. “Our theme,’Dream Beyond,’ perfectly aligns with this growth,as we aim to reach new heights and inspire even more creators and audiences.”

A Celebration of Black Excellence Across Los Angeles

From February 4-17, 2025, PAFF will transform both culver City and Baldwin hills into vibrant hubs of creativity and cultural exchange.

Culver City Welcomes PAFF: The festival will host a diverse array of films, art exhibitions, panel discussions, and networking events at various Culver City venues, including the Westfield Culver City Shopping Center and The Culver Theater.

ArtFEST Finds a New Home: PAFF’s iconic ArtFEST will take place at the Westfield Culver City Shopping Center, bringing together talented artists and art enthusiasts in a dynamic setting.

* Cinemark Remains a Beloved Destination: PAFF will continue to utilize Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw and XD, ensuring that loyal attendees have consistent access to their favorite festival experiences.

More Films, More Art, more Impact

This expansion allows PAFF to offer an expanded schedule, featuring more screenings, panels, networking events, and community engagements that align with the “Dream Beyond” theme.

“As a city that values diversity, arts, and cultural exchange, this expansion represents a remarkable chance to celebrate the rich storytelling traditions of the African diaspora right here in our community,” said Culver City Councilmember and past mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin.

Los Angeles Councilmember Heather hutt echoed this sentiment, stating, “I’m thrilled to see PAFF expanding into Culver City, bringing its powerful celebration of Black culture to an even wider audience.But I’m especially excited that PAFF is staying rooted in the City of Los Angeles,where it has been a cornerstone of our cultural landscape for decades.”

Pan African Film Festival Expands to Culver City in 2025

Los Angeles, CA – Get ready for a bigger and bolder Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in 2025. The festival, known for showcasing the best of Black cinema and art, is expanding to Culver City, adding a second location to its conventional home in Baldwin Hills.

“It’s reflective of the festival’s growth and popularity,” said Oduduwa Olatunji,PAFF’s executive director.

The expansion, themed “Dream Beyond,” will bring screenings, art exhibitions, and special events to both Culver City and baldwin Hills. Westfield Culver City and The Culver Theater will host screenings and exhibitions, while ArtFEST, PAFF’s signature art event, will take place at Westfield Culver City.

Cinemark Baldwin Hills will continue to be a hub for PAFF, offering a variety of screenings and events.

“they’re really committed to serving both communities,” said Jasmine, a Los Angeles resident excited about the expansion.

The move to Culver City is expected to draw larger crowds and introduce PAFF to a wider audience.

“It’s great to see PAFF expanding like this,” said marcus, another local resident. “I love that they’re bringing Black stories and art to a wider audience.”

With two locations and a diverse program of films, art, and events, PAFF 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Black creativity and culture.
