Panama Cuts Ties with Venezuela: Commercial Air Operations Grounded Amid Rising Tensions
Panama Suspends Flights to and from Venezuela
Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority has temporarily suspended air operations with Venezuela, effective Monday, September 30.
This decision comes two months after the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) took similar action, citing concerns over the July 28 presidential elections.
The Panamanian authorities have issued two Notices to Airmen (Notam), stating that all aircraft with Venezuelan registration are prohibited from landing or taking off from Panama’s airspace temporarily. This restriction also applies to general flights, commercial, charter, cargo, and postal services with Venezuela.
The duration of this suspension is currently unknown.
