Panama Cuts Ties with Venezuela: Commercial Air Operations Grounded Amid Rising Tensions

Panama Suspends Flights to and ‍from⁢ Venezuela

Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority has ​temporarily suspended air operations with Venezuela, effective Monday, September 30.

This decision comes two months after the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) took⁤ similar action, citing concerns over the July 28 presidential elections.

The‌ Panamanian⁣ authorities have issued two Notices to Airmen (Notam), stating that all aircraft with Venezuelan registration‍ are prohibited from landing or taking off from Panama’s airspace ⁣temporarily. This restriction also ‍applies to general flights, commercial, charter, cargo, and postal services with Venezuela.

The duration ⁢of this ​suspension is currently unknown.
