Global Panda Partners 2024: A Platform for Ecological Progress
Global Panda Partners 2024 (GPP 2024) is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, at the end of November. The event is hosted by Xinhua News Agency Sichuan Branch, Xinhua News Agency News & Information Center, and Chengdu Media Group.
The giant panda, a national treasure of China, is an ambassador for global biodiversity protection and a symbol of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. China’s efforts to protect the giant pandas have a positive impact on other species that coexist with them. Individuals, groups, or organizations dedicated to ecological progress, environmental conservation, and green development can be considered “panda partners.”
The GPP 2024 is themed on “Coexistence Between Human and Nature” and aims to promote the philosophy of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” The event will showcase the beauty of Sichuan, China, and global ecological progress. The event comprises an opening ceremony, a culture & creativity contest, and side events, upholding the values of “conservation, greenness, sharing.”
The GPP serves as a platform for fostering conversations and exchanges that promote global ecological progress. The opening ceremony will include the publication of a think tank report on ecological progress, keynote speeches by experts and scholars, and the announcement of “Panda Partner Cities” and “Panda Partner Brands” lists. The event will also launch giant panda-related public activities and organize a global panda partner Sichuan tour and dialogue.
The “Panda Homeland” Culture & Creativity Contest, hosted by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, has commenced on September 22nd. The contest calls on creative forces worldwide to submit original creations centered on giant pandas and related culture. The contest features “Best Creation” awards in five main categories, including “Best Sculpture,” alongside three special awards.
