Italian international fly-half Paolo Garbisi has joined Top 14 club Perpignan on a two-year contract after being released from the final year of his contract with RC Toulon, according to announcements from the Catalan club. Garbisi, 26, spent two seasons with Toulon following a three-year stint with Montpellier. Garbisi arrives at the club to numerically replace fellow Italian international Tommaso Allan, who departed at the conclusion of the season.
Squad Integration and Competition at Perpignan
At Perpignan, Garbisi will enter into direct competition for the fly-half position. His arrival coincides with veteran Argentine fly-half Benjamin Urdapilleta extending his stay with the club. Urdapilleta, 40, agreed to a short-term stint during the winter before ultimately deciding to sign on for an additional season. Perpignan secured their Top 14 status for the upcoming campaign after finishing 13th in the standings and defeating Provence Rugby in the relegation playoff.
