IFSC Para Climbing World Championships 2025 – seoul Results

With eleven already confirmed, it was down to the final eight sport classes to crown their winners in Seoul at the IFSC Para climbing World Championships 2025.
RP Sport Classes
The RP (Reduced Physical Ability) sport classes saw thrilling competitions and several first-time champions. These athletes demonstrate amazing strength and technique despite physical limitations.
RP2
Emily Seelenfreund from the USA was crowned the winner of the women’s RP2 reaching hold 25+ for her gold. Her win was the first gold of her career.Austria’s Jasmin Plank took silver reaching hold 23+ and Japan’s Futahashi Matoi took bronze reaching hold 22.
USA’s Megan Gleason was fourth on hold 15.
RP3
The men’s RP3 title went to Japan’s Yamashita Kazuhiko who continued his strong climbing from qualification into the final to secure the gold medal with a hold 39+ climb. Belgium’s Camille Caulier, relatively new to Para Climbing, now has a World Championships silver to show for his efforts, reaching hold 35+. The Netherlands’ Jamie Barendrecht took bronze from hold 34+.
Japan’s Takano Tadashi was fourth on hold 32+.
Brazil’s Marina Dias defended her RP3 title with a hold 45 climb, securing the gold.Dias’ win at the World Championships in 2023 was the last time she stood on the top step of the podium, but she has returned for another world title. USA’s Nat Vorel took silver with a hold 41 climb, ahead of Japan’s Yoshida Momoko who reached hold 38+ for bronze.
Germany’s Lena Schoellig was fourth on hold 36.
AL Sport Classes
The AL (Amputation/Limb Difference) sport classes showcased extraordinary athleticism and adaptation. athletes in these categories often demonstrate innovative climbing techniques to overcome their physical challenges.
AL2
There were two French champions in the AL sport classes as Thierry Delarue and Lucie Jarrige both claimed gold.
