SWAT Standoff in paradise Hills After Attempted Homicide

A SWAT team responded to a Paradise Hills neighborhood in San Diego early Monday after an attempted homicide suspect barricaded himself in a residence, according to San Diego Police Department. The incident began around 11:30 p.m. Sunday on the 2300 block of Rachael Avenue when officers responded to a 911 call.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to arrest the suspect for attempted homicide. The suspect refused to exit the home, prompting the deployment of the SWAT team. One person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police Chief Scott Wahl told NBC 7 around 7 a.m. that authorities no longer believe the suspect is inside the home where the attempted homicide occurred. The San Diego Police Department continues its investigation.
