SWAT Standoff in paradise Hills After Attempted Homicide

A ‍SWAT team responded to a Paradise Hills neighborhood ⁣in San Diego early Monday after an attempted⁤ homicide⁣ suspect barricaded himself in a residence, according to San Diego Police Department. The incident began around 11:30 p.m. Sunday on ⁤the 2300 block of Rachael Avenue when officers ⁢responded to a 911 call.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to ⁣arrest the suspect for attempted homicide. The suspect refused to exit the home, prompting the deployment of the SWAT team. One person was ⁤transported to ‍a local hospital for treatment.

Police Chief Scott⁣ Wahl told NBC 7 around 7 a.m. that authorities no longer ⁢believe the suspect is inside the home where the attempted homicide occurred. The San‍ Diego Police Department continues its⁢ investigation.
