Paralympic Champion Kumar​ Nitesh in​ Running for‍ Top Badminton Honor

New Delhi – Indian Paralympic gold medalist kumar Nitesh is among the nominees for the prestigious Badminton World Federation (BWF) Para Badminton Player of the Year award.

Nitesh, who captured his first Paralympic gold in the SL3 category ‌at the Paris Games, faces stiff competition from a trio of badminton powerhouses. Two-time ⁢Paralympic champion Cheah Liek Hou of Malaysia (SU5), Japan’s ⁢Daiki ‌Kajiwara (WH2), and China’s‍ Qu Zimo⁣ (WH1) are all vying for the‌ coveted title.

The 29-year-old Indian shuttler ⁢is⁣ no stranger to success ‍on the international stage. Nitesh boasts an notable resume, including two silver ‍medals and a bronze medal from previous World Championships.

On ⁢the women’s side, Li Feng Mei, Sarina satomi, Liu Yu Tong, and Leani Ratri Oktila⁢ are ⁢all in contention for the women’s Para Badminton ‍Player of the Year award.

Adding to ​the excitement,​ several nominees have the chance⁣ to claim a double victory. Qu,‌ Liu, Oktila, and Li are also in the running for the Para Badminton‍ Pair of the Year award alongside their respective partners.
