paris, TX – The Paris Police ⁣Department had a busy week, responding to a variety of calls⁣ and making​ several arrests. Here’s a ⁢look at some of the notable‌ incidents from November‌ 27 ⁢to December 1.

Drug Arrest⁤ Following Traffic Stop

on Wednesday, November 27, ⁣at approximately 2:35 p.m., a Paris officer observed a vehicle ⁤illegally parked in ⁣the 1400 block of Sperry‍ Avenue. As the officer approached, the driver,​ identified as 58-year-old Berlyn Don Stuckey, exited the​ vehicle.The officer requested Stuckey remove‍ his hands⁣ from ⁤his pockets for⁢ safety reasons, ⁢but Stuckey refused ‍to comply. During the ensuing struggle,⁢ Stuckey pulled ‍a glass pipe with​ a bowl and a can of tobacco from his pockets,⁤ discarding the tobacco in the‌ bed of his pickup truck.

Stuckey ⁢was detained⁢ without further incident and booked into the Paris ⁤Jail on felony charges‌ of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and⁣ tampering with physical⁣ evidence. He also faces two misdemeanor ⁣drug charges.

Fatal Apartment Fire

Tragedy‌ struck⁢ early Thursday morning, November 28, when ​Paris Police, Fire, and EMS responded ⁢to a structure fire in an apartment building in the 600 block of SW⁢ 7th Street.

One male, the sole occupant of the apartment, was removed from the building, treated at the ⁢scene, and transported to Paris Regional Health. Sadly, he later succumbed to his injuries. The ‌inquiry into the cause ⁤of the fire is ⁤ongoing.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered

Later that same morning, ⁤a resident in the 800 block of SE 17th Street reported her 2017 Chevrolet Equinox stolen from her driveway. She confirmed⁣ she⁤ was​ the only one with⁢ a key ‍to the vehicle.

At approximately 9:27 a.m., while patrolling the George Wright Homes apartment complex, officers located the stolen vehicle, locked. The victim arrived, unlocked the vehicle, and discovered three lab coats and sunglasses missing. The ⁤lab coats were later recovered from a dumpster in the⁢ complex parking lot.The vehicle was processed⁤ for evidence and ⁢returned to the ⁣owner.

Warrant Arrests

On friday, November 29, Paris officers made ⁣two arrests stemming from outstanding warrants.

At 9:55 a.m., an officer stopped ⁢a vehicle in the 300 block of‌ Fitzhugh Avenue for an obscured third brake light. During the traffic stop, the passenger,⁢ 48-year-old Glenda Sue Potter, was ⁣found to‌ have an active felony ‌warrant for motion to ​revoke‍ probation related to credit or ‍debit card abuse of an elderly person. Potter ⁤was taken into custody and⁢ booked into the Paris Jail.

Later that morning, ⁣at 10:39 a.m.,an ⁢officer stopped a vehicle in ‍the 600 block ⁤of Tudor​ Street for running a ⁣stop sign. The driver initially provided⁢ false ⁣identification but was later ⁣positively identified as 32-year-old Trivel⁢ Andrew Dunwood Jr. Dunwood had an ⁤outstanding‌ felony‌ warrant for manufacture and⁣ delivery of a controlled ​substance and was also charged with failure to identify as a fugitive with intent to give false data.

Multi-Agency Warrant arrest

On Sunday,december ⁤1,at‌ 1:38 p.m.,Paris ⁢officers arrested 21-year-old Audriaunna deyonce Brown in the ⁤2500 block of North Main Street on outstanding warrants from⁤ Dallas and Grayson counties. Brown was booked‌ into the Paris Jail on charges of felony insufficient⁣ bond⁢ robbery ‍(Dallas county) and failure to appear for assault causing bodily injury (Grayson County).

Weekly Activity ⁤Summary

From November 27 through December 1, the Paris Police Department responded to 285 calls for‌ service, made 14 adult arrests, and initiated 46 traffic stops.
