Pascagoula Panthers Championship Parade: Route & Time Details

March 8, 2026 Lisa Park - Tech Editor Tech

The city of Pascagoula, Mississippi, will hold a victory parade on Tuesday, March 10th at 6:00 PM to celebrate the Pascagoula High School (PHS) Panthers’ recent 6A state basketball championship win. The parade route, announced Friday by the city, will begin near the high school and wind its way through the city center, culminating at War Memorial Stadium.

The procession will assemble in front of Pascagoula High School on Taylor Avenue. From there, it will proceed along Polk Avenue and Market Street, turning right onto Market Street. The parade will then make another right onto Jackson Avenue, followed by a final right turn onto 9th Street. The route concludes with a right turn onto Tucker Avenue, leading directly to War Memorial Stadium.

City officials have announced that roads along the parade route will be closed to traffic beginning at 5:30 PM, half an hour before the parade is scheduled to begin, to allow for setup and ensure the safety of participants and spectators. The closures are expected to affect traffic flow in the downtown area during the evening commute.

This celebration marks a significant achievement for the Pascagoula High School Panthers, bringing community pride and recognition to the school and the city. The 6A state basketball championship represents the culmination of a successful season for the team, and the parade provides an opportunity for residents to show their support and congratulate the players and coaching staff.

The announcement, made via a Facebook post, highlights the city’s commitment to celebrating the accomplishments of its local high school teams. Pascagoula High School has a history of athletic success, and the basketball team’s championship win adds to the school’s legacy.

This isn’t the only parade planned for Pascagoula High School in recent years. According to a Facebook post from October 17, 2025, the school also holds an annual Homecoming Parade, which took place on Thursday, October 23rd at 5:30 PM. While details of the Homecoming parade are separate from the championship celebration, they demonstrate the school’s tradition of community events.

The city’s decision to hold a parade reflects a broader trend of communities celebrating the achievements of their high school sports teams. Such events foster a sense of local pride and provide a platform for recognizing the hard work and dedication of student-athletes. The parade is expected to draw a large crowd of residents eager to participate in the festivities.

While the focus is currently on celebrating the basketball team’s victory, the city of Pascagoula also hosts other community events throughout the year. The upcoming parade is a testament to the city’s vibrant community spirit and its commitment to supporting its local schools and athletes.

Residents are encouraged to line the parade route and show their support for the PHS Panthers. The city anticipates a large turnout and encourages attendees to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot. Further details regarding parking and any potential disruptions to traffic flow will be released by the city in the days leading up to the parade.

The victory parade serves as a public acknowledgment of the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season. It’s a chance for the community to come together and celebrate a significant accomplishment for Pascagoula High School and the city as a whole. The event promises to be a memorable occasion for players, coaches, students, and residents alike.
