Bristol Bears Aim for Premiership⁢ Rugby Playoff Spot

⁢ ⁤ Updated May 28, 2025

Bristol Bears are determined to secure a Premiership Rugby playoff spot ⁣as they ⁤face Harlequins.⁢ The team ⁢is chasing its first Premiership ⁢trophy, a goal that slipped away after a second-half collapse against Harlequins in the 2020 final.

The Bears’ form has been inconsistent ⁢recently, with only two wins in their last six matches. Despite this,⁣ coach Pat Lam expressed pride ⁤in his‍ team’s⁢ resilience. “I’m really proud of this ⁤group,”‍ Lam said,⁣ noting their consistent presence in the top four throughout the season.

Harlequins, currently⁤ seventh ⁣in the standings, have ⁤already been eliminated from playoff contention.Lam stressed the importance of focusing on their⁢ own performance.”The only achievement‍ we want is⁢ a⁤ win,” he ⁤said. “The boys are pretty focused and looking forward to ⁤it.”

Last year,Bristol needed a win‍ against Harlequins and favorable results elsewhere to reach the playoffs, but they ultimately fell⁣ short. This time, Lam said he would not be distracted ⁢by other games. “I don’t care what happens‍ anywhere else apart from at Ashton Gate,” Lam stated.

“The risky⁣ teams are those that have nothing to play for.For us it’s about ⁢focusing on us and what we can bring to the ⁢game, ideally that⁣ reflects the excitement and determination and hunger to win this game.”
