Adams described his state as "pretty miserable" and acknowledged that he lacked the tools to cope with his feelings. “I was still trying to live my life as a 25-year-old, numbing myself to deal with my insecurity and fears,” he explained.

A turning point for Adams came when he realized his habits negatively impacted his family. He stated, “I didn’t want to be that dad.” This realization prompted him to stop drinking and take better care of himself.
