Patrick Muldoon Memorial Service Held One Month After Death at 57

Former actor Patrick Muldoon was laid to rest on Saturday, May 16, 2026, nearly one month after his death at the age of 57.

The memorial service for the actor, who was known for his roles in Melrose Place and Days of Our Lives, was held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Santa Monica.

Muldoon died on April 19, 2026. While the death was initially reported as a heart attack, a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly indicated that multiple underlying causes contributed to his passing, including a pulmonary embolism and coagulopathy disorder, a genetic condition that impairs the blood’s ability to form clots properly.

The celebration of life service was attended by several close associates, including Sami Sheen, the 22-year-old daughter of Denise Richards. Sheen shared a photo of a handout from the memorial on Instagram, captioning the post, Miss u so much Patrick.

Rodney Peete, a former teammate of Muldoon at the University of Southern California, also posted a tribute to Instagram on May 16, 2026.

A statement released to the media described Muldoon as stylish, charismatic, and full of life, noting that he embraced each day with a full-tilt, rock ’n’ roll spirit.

Relationship with Denise Richards

Denise Richards, who dated Muldoon in the late 1990s and co-starred with him in the 1997 film Starship Troopers, posted a detailed tribute on April 21, 2026. Richards described herself as deeply heartbroken & devastated by the loss.

Richards recalled meeting Muldoon in their first acting class when she was 19 and he was 21. At the time, Muldoon was a student at USC and held a recurring role on Who’s the Boss.
