Patrick Reed Wins LIV ⁤Golf Dallas in Playoff

CARROLLTON, Texas-Patrick Reed overcame a ​shaky final round to seize the LIV ​Golf Dallas title in a dramatic playoff on sunday. Reed’s 15-foot birdie​ putt on ​the first playoff​ hole secured⁤ his first victory since joining the Saudi-funded ‍league in ⁣2022. The LIV Golf victory came at ⁢Maridoe Golf Club.

Reed, who began the final round with a three-stroke advantage, saw his lead evaporate as he carded a ⁢3-over‍ 75. Jinichiro Kozuma’s bogey on the 18th ‍and⁤ par on‌ the first forced a‍ four-way playoff⁣ with Reed, Louis Oosthuizen and Paul Casey.

Oosthuizen found water on⁣ the first extra hole, while Casey needed four shots to reach the green. Kozuma’s ​missed birdie‍ attempt paved the⁤ way for Reed’s winning​ putt.

The LIV Golf Dallas champion expressed‍ relief at securing his first win in his ‌home state of Texas. While he won the Hong Kong Open last year on ‍the​ Asian Tour, this marks his first LIV Golf title in 41 attempts.

“To get my first win here, part of LIV, it means so​ much to me,” ⁢Reed said. “I tried to mess it up. After ​making birdie on the first, I seemed to‌ leave every putt ​short.”
