Pau Marti Criticizes FAM After Replacement Announcement
Malaysia’s soccer Coach Expresses Frustration Over Premature Replacement proclamation
Kuala Lumpur – Just as malaysia gears up for a crucial match against Singapore in the AFF Championship,a cloud of controversy hangs over the national team.Outgoing coach Pau Marti Vicente has expressed his disappointment over the Malaysian Football Association’s (FAM) decision to announce his replacement, Peter Cklamovski, while the team is still competing in the tournament.
Vicente, who announced his departure after the AFF Championship earlier this month, expressed his bewilderment at the timing of the announcement. “from the beginning,it was a bit strange. I don’t know why. I don’t know what the benefit is for everyone by announcing a new coach while we are still there (at the AFF Championship),” Vicente told harian Metro.
The Spanish coach emphasized the importance of focusing on the task at hand, stating, “But we can’t control it. We can’t change it. What we can control is during training and on the field. We need to focus on preparation and come up with the best plan to beat Singapore. if we think too much about things outside, maybe we will have difficulty preparing the team.”
Malaysia currently sits in a precarious position in Group A of the AFF Championship, trailing Thailand and Singapore. A victory against Singapore on Friday is crucial for the Harimau Malaya to secure a spot in the semifinals.
The announcement of Cklamovski’s appointment has cast a shadow over Malaysia’s campaign, raising questions about the timing and potential impact on team morale. Vicente’s frustration highlights the delicate balance between planning for the future and respecting the present commitments of a team still fighting for success.
