A statement posted on Simon’s Instagram account cited “chronic and intense back pain” as the reason for the cancellation. The pain became “unmanageable” and required immediate medical attention, the statement said. the canceled concerts were part of Simon’s A quiet Celebration Tour.
The statement indicated that Simon is scheduled for a minor surgical procedure. There is hope that he will be able to continue the tour after the procedure and possibly reschedule the canceled dates.
