Paula Patton Embracing Singlehood: A New Chapter
Paula Patton Embraces Single life & Finds Healing Through New Role in “Finding Faith”
Paula Patton is radiating confidence and contentment as she navigates life as a single woman, and she’s opening up about finding joy in this chapter while preparing for a powerful new role. The actress, known for her roles in Hitch and Precious, is starring in Lifetime’s Finding Faith, a film that unexpectedly led her to a place of self-forgiveness and renewed trust.
Embracing Singleness & Letting Go of Fear
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Patton confirmed she is currently single and actively enjoying every moment. “I’m going to be honest, I am a single woman,” she shared with a playful tone. But beyond simply acknowledging her relationship status, Patton spoke with wisdom about trusting in a larger plan.
“God has your king for you, and you just have to go about your life enjoying every moment,” she explained. “Don’t wait on anything or anybody. Just trust and know that when the right person comes, it will be.”
Patton’s outlook highlights a common struggle many face: the fear of being alone. She believes this fear often drives people into relationships that aren’t truly fulfilling. “I think we get caught up in fear, or worried about being alone, and then you make choices that are not great choices, instead of just like, trusting, it’s all gonna work out, and then you don’t have to chase anything,” she said. This resonates with a growing movement towards self-love and prioritizing personal well-being before seeking partnership. It’s a powerful message – that happiness isn’t contingent on being with someone else, but rather on cultivating a fulfilling life for yourself.
Finding Faith: A Role That Led to Self-Forgiveness
Beyond her personal life, Patton is captivating audiences with her performance in Finding faith. the Lifetime movie centers around a woman whose world is shattered by tragedy, leading her down a path of despair and a loss of faith. The role proved to be unexpectedly therapeutic for Patton herself.”It was scary…When I was doing it, though, what was kind of unbelievable was that I was able to forgive myself for the first time genuinely,” Patton revealed. She explained that despite undergoing her own “healing journey,” she still struggled with self-blame and questioning past decisions.
“Because even as I’d been through this healing journey, I’d still be like, ‘God, how did you do that? Why didn’t you do this? You should have done it like that,” she continued. “And somehow playing Faith and going through it, I realized I did the best I could at that time. I didn’t have the tools. I didn’t know, and I don’t know, I just was able to forgive myself.”
This speaks to the transformative power of acting and the ability of art to mirror and process personal experiences. Taking on the role of Faith allowed Patton to confront her own vulnerabilities and ultimately find a sense of peace and acceptance. It’s a testament to her dedication as an actress and her willingness to delve into emotionally challenging material.
Finding Faith premieres on Saturday,August 9th at 8/7c only on Lifetime. Don’t miss this powerful story of loss, resilience, and the journey back to faith – both for the character of Faith and, as we’ve learned, for Paula Patton herself.
