Pavel Skala, a highly respected drummer who collaborated with prominent Czech musicians including janek Ledecký, Jan Spálený, and Ota Petřina, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2024. from OK Band to Television Dramaturgy
Skala first gained recognition in the early 1980s as a member of the band OK Band. Throughout his career, he lent his rhythmic talent to a diverse range of groups, including Mýdlo, 5P, Karamel, nahlas, Etc…, Žentour, Prohrála v kartá, Screwballs, and South Pole.
Beyond performance, skala demonstrated versatility in other areas of the music industry. In the 1990s, he served as a dramaturg for the popular television show Ace and later became the editor-in-chief of & musiQ magazine, formerly known as Rock & Pop magazine.

The Malostranská beseda club highlighted Skala’s frequent presence at their venue, stating, “Pavel Skala, a drummer who accompanied countless bands with us, has passed away.
