Pavement to Reunite at Austin’s Levitation Festival

After hinting their October 2024 show would be their last “for a long time,” indie rock band pavement has announced a reunion. The band will co-headline the Levitation festival in Austin, texas, on Sept. 28. This performance caps a year that included the release of “Pavements,” a film about the band.
The Levitation festival,an annual event,officially begins Sept. 24 with club shows featuring Mdou moctar and Beach Fossils. this year, the festival will take place at Palmer Events Center, offering indoor and outdoor stages, art installations, vintage clothing vendors, food trucks, and a poster show.

Beyond Pavement, the Levitation festival lineup includes mastodon, TV on the Radio, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Swervedriver, Built to Spill, Acid Bath, the Sword, Blood Incantation, Wednesday, Blonde Redhead, the Black Angels, Destroyer, Frankie and the witch Fingers, Neal Francis, the Raveonettes, and Boy Harsher.
“We’ve been searching for the right location to bring a multi-stage experience back to Levitation for years, and we found it right downtown,” said Rob Fitzpatrick, co-founder and festival director. “The venue offers a huge upgrade in production overall with endless possibilities for the visual experience, and great amenities – air conditioning, nice bathrooms, ample parking and a giant shaded outdoor courtyard, along with the production infrastructure needed for a world-class show.”
fitzpatrick added that the proximity to downtown Austin allows the festival to continue hosting shows in the red River venues, which he called the heart and soul of Austin’s music scene.
