The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has agreed a record-breaking partnership extension with dartboard manufacturer winmau.
The renewed long-term agreement ensures Winmau will continue to serve as the organisation’s official equipment provider. Winmau has been the exclusive tournament board supplier for the PDC as 2022, and this deal represents the largest of its kind in darts equipment supply.
Under the terms of the extension, Winmau dartboards will be used exclusively across the PDC’s televised events worldwide. This includes tournaments spanning 17 countries, such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Coinciding with the extension, the brand has launched the Blade X dartboard. The new model will now become the official main stage dartboard, featuring a redesigned wiring system and a new ‘ProCore’ sisal density construction intended to reduce bounce-outs. The board will make its debut at the Winmau World Masters this week and has been designated as the official dartboard for all Premier and World series events moving forward.
Additionally, the agreement stipulates that Winmau will remain a title sponsor of the Challenge Tour, Development Tour, and World Youth Championship.
Matthew Porter, Chief Executive, PDC, said, “Winmau have been a fantastic partner of the PDC over the last four years, and this record-breaking extension reflects our shared ambition for the future of the sport. Their commitment to innovation, quality and performance is unmatched, and the launch of the Blade X sets a new benchmark for darts equipment at the very highest level. We’re delighted to continue working together to deliver the best possible playing conditions for our players while helping to grow darts to new audiences around the world.”
