Peach Motel Q&A: Musician’s Travel Inspiration
ArtHouse Jersey Grant Fuels Indie Musician’s Debut Album
Local indie musician Marc Hepburn has received a progress grant from ArtHouse Jersey, enabling him to record and release his first full-length solo album, titled “The Peach Motel.” the funding provides Hepburn with the resources to professionally produce his music, which explores themes of freedom, travel, and purpose.
Hepburn’s songwriting draws heavily from personal experiences, shaping the lyrical content of his work. He was one of seven artists selected for ArtHouse Jersey’s latest quarterly funding initiative.
The impact of the Grant
“Being awarded a grant for this album has given me the peace of mind to know I can actually see this project through properly. To have the chance to record the music to a really professional standard is very motivating,” Hepburn stated in a recent interview.
Previously, Hepburn balanced music creation with other commitments. The grant allows him dedicated studio time. “Up until now I’ve been writing and recording as best I can around other commitments, but now I’ll have the chance to block out a decent amount of time in a professional studio to create this, which is really liberating. I think it’ll make for much better [quality] music too,” he explained.
