Tour du Faso 2024: Moroccan Cyclists Shine with Yellow Jersey Win
Ouagadougou, November 6, 2024 (AIB) – The Ambassador of Morocco to Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui, hosted a reception at the Kingdom Residence to honor the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation (FRMC) delegation, following their outstanding performance in the 35th edition of the Tour International du Faso.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Yellow Jersey, won by champion Mouhcine EL Kouraji, to Ambassador Slaoui. The Ambassador commended the team’s achievement and praised the Burkina Faso authorities for their efforts in developing the sports sector and hosting major sporting events.
Ambassador Slaoui also expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Moroccan team. The Yellow Jersey win was a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, with Mouhcine EL Kouraji emerging victorious ahead of his compatriots Driss El Alouani and Adil El Arbaoui.
Mouhcine EL Kouraji, who succeeded last year’s winner Paul Daumont, completed the 1188.93 km race in 27 hours 28 minutes 21 seconds. The International Tour of Faso took place between October 25 and November 3, spanning 10 stages.
