Updated June 10, 2025

This victory marks his third in his inaugural gravel season.Pellaud’s teammate, Jan Stöckli, secured second place, out-sprinting Canadian cyclist Benjamin Perry of Guava x Castelli SOG near the finish.
just a week prior, Pellaud finished second at Unbound Gravel 200. At that race’s finish line in Emporia, he expressed a desire to avoid the struggles he faced at The Traka 360 and Sea Otter Classic Gravel. Despite a strong showing in a two-rider breakaway at Unbound, he narrowly missed the win, finishing 42 seconds behind Cameron Jones.
pellaud’s victory at Gravel Brazil in March qualified him for the UCI Gravel World Championships. He also claimed the general classification title at the Transcordilleras off-road stage race, an eight-day event. His recent success highlights his growing presence in the gravel cycling scene and his ability to perform consistently at a high level.
“I really wanted to be at the front and not in the same position I was in The Traka one month ago. That’s always been my way of racing on the road already. I’m here to show my qualities and abilities and to make the show, to make the public enjoy cycling, and also have fun myself,” Pellaud said after Unbound Gravel 200.
Pellaud is currently tied for third overall in the Life Time grand Prix series with Matt Beers. The upcoming Leadville Trail 100 MTB race may favor Beers, potentially shifting the standings.
Perry commented on Instagram, “We were recipients of a Tudor tag team. Simon Pellaud did his thing, attacked early. I was hoping we could work together, a bunch of Canadian lads and another Tudor rider sitting on, but we didn’t have the juice as a unit.” He added that he found himself alone with Stöckli with 40km to go, Pellaud having long since pulled away. Despite the Tudor team’s dominance, Perry’s third-place finish extended his lead in the Gravel Earth Series.
The 190km “Braveheart” route, comprising 84% gravel, presented riders with 1,391 meters of elevation gain. The race, organized by Tour de France veteran Alex Stieda, is part of the Gravel Earth Series circuit. The next North American stop for GES is the Lost & Found Gravel Festival in California on June 14.
