Penn State Football: Colorado State’s Kashif Moore Expected to Join as WR Coach

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State has tapped Colorado State’s Kashif Moore to become its new wide receivers coach, filling a vacancy created by Noah Pauley’s recent departure to the NFL, according to multiple reports.

The hiring, first reported by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, brings Moore to Happy Valley as part of head coach Matt Campbell’s inaugural coaching staff. Moore had only recently joined the Rams’ program in December 2025, following a successful three-year stint as the wide receivers coach at the University of Connecticut.

Moore’s coaching journey began after a brief professional football career. He spent a year as a wide receiver in the NFL in 2012, playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Kansas City Chiefs. Following his time in the NFL, he transitioned to coaching, starting as an assistant coach at Conard High School before moving to Wesleyan University to coach wide receivers.

Prior to his arrival at Colorado State, Moore significantly impacted the UConn Huskies’ offense. In 2025, he coached Skylar Bell to a standout season, culminating in a Biletnikoff Award finalist nomination. Bell finished the year with 101 receptions for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns, becoming the first Consensus All-American in UConn program history and is projected to be selected in the 2026 NFL draft.

Moore himself was a standout player at UConn, where he played wide receiver from 2008 to 2011. He served as a team captain during his senior year and finished his collegiate career with 1,699 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, ranking among the program’s all-time leaders in receptions when he graduated. He recorded 126 receptions during his time with the Huskies.

Before returning to UConn, Moore held coaching positions at Cornell University, where he coached running backs in 2021, and at Albany, where he served as the wide receivers coach in 2022. His diverse coaching experience and proven ability to develop talent made him a compelling candidate for Campbell’s staff.

The addition of Moore comes at a crucial time for the Penn State football program as it prepares for the upcoming season. The Nittany Lions are looking to build on their recent successes and Moore’s expertise in developing wide receivers is expected to play a key role in their offensive strategy.

Campbell’s staff is taking shape quickly as the program prepares for spring practice and the 2026 season. The hiring of Moore signals a commitment to building a dynamic and competitive offense in Happy Valley.
