Lancaster Medical Center names Sonon, Ritter to Executive roles

Lancaster Medical Center in Lancaster, Pa., a part of Penn State Health based in Hershey, Pa., has solidified its leadership team. Angela Sonon, DNP, CRNP, is now the senior vice president and chief operating officer, while Valerie Ritter, MSN, RN, has been appointed vice president and chief nursing officer.
Both Sonon and Ritter had been serving in these executive roles on an interim basis before their permanent appointments took effect June 1.
Sonon’s journey with Lancaster Medical Center began in 2022, the hospital’s opening year. Before stepping into the interim COO position in October 2024, she was the senior director of quality and medical affairs.
Ritter joined Lancaster Medical Center after holding various positions at Tower Health in West Reading,Pa. She assumed the interim CNO role at Lancaster Medical Center in February.
